3/18/25 Formerly EVO Now Hooky Entertainment Update – Ken and I went over to the new Hooky Entertainment that’s coming to Hutto, they say by May!

One of our readers asked us to do an update on Hooky Entertainment because it is coming along! We were not able to get anywhere near the windows or doors because they were working when we were there. We’ll try again.

3/7/25 Update – According to a Facebook post from Mayor Mike today, the new name of the business formerly being built as EVO will be….Hooky Entertainment.

Here’s a bit from the Mayor’s post:

“Last night was City Council night.

“Here are my big takeaways:

“#1…

“#2, Item 13.3 was about Project V (EVO entertainment complex). We know the name of the theatre complex being built. It’s Hooky Entertainment. Not sure how the marketing is going to go with that.

“The new owners are meeting with the EDC on Monday to discuss their plans for making Hooky be the best that it can be.

“Also, the EDC is going to discuss legal options because sounds like although many City Council members are very happy with what’s going on, some on the EDC are not happy with Hooky?

“Not real sure and will know more after Monday’s meeting. The word I’m getting is that the City Council doesn’t have a lot of pervu over the EDC, and discussion at their last meeting was how to limit communication to the City Council. More to come.”

2/6/25 – EVO is going through some changes! According to several sources, the owners of EVO are going their separate ways and splitting the assets. The Hutto location will still be built as originally agreed, except it will have a new name.

There’s more news! The small building that is being built in front of the EVO building might be for a restaurant and it looks like it’s going to be the new Basil & Bites! Many thanks to our readers for their help!

1/8/25 Update – We’ve been by the new EVO coming to Hutto, and we found something interesting!

On the east side of the building, there’s a large independent structure that we can’t identify. Here are some images showing the structure. If you think you know what it is, please let us know in the comments. Ken said maybe a batting cage!?

Updated 11/26/24 – Many of you have been asking for a progress report on EVO!

We went by there this weekend and found a huge concrete building. If you’ve been wondering what that is behind Chuy’s, it’s the tremendous EVO building!

Updated 7/5/24 – EVO has broken ground at the new Hutto location at Town West Commons.

We were able to pinpoint the location and take these pics today.

Added 5/12/24 – EVO Entertainment is coming to Hutto. The fun will include 8 movie theaters, 10 bowling lanes, 72,000 sq ft of gaming and attractions, plus food and drinks.

Their new venue will be over 53,000 square feet with recliner seating in the theaters and a private event space.

Opening – The expected opening is the summer of 2025.
