McAlister’s Deli
3/26/25 Update – We’ve heard back from McAlister’s Deli, and the opening date has been pushed back!
Ken and I went there this past weekend to check on the progress. The outside still looks the same, with paper on parts of the building. The inside has made progress, but it looks like there’s more work to do there.
We are told just today, that the new opening date is May 26th! Our contact said that was all he could tell us at this time.
We wish McAlister’s Deli Hutto the very best in their endeavors to open. And we completely understand that stuff happens!

Freebirds World Burrito
3/24/25 Update – We are excited to share with you that Freebirds has started the build-out on their Hutto location! A reader asked us to check it out and we did!
When we were there on Sunday, 3/23, there was a work van there, and the sheet-rock crew was working.
The very kind gentleman that was there didn’t have a lot of information but he did confirm that this is the location of the new Freebrids World Burrito coming to Hutto!
Location – Carmel Creek Crossing, near Salad and Go and Smoky Mo’s on Chris Kelly Blvd.

Historic Downtown Hutto Vacation Rental
3/23/25 – There may be a vacation rental coming to downtown Hutto!
The details are sketchy, but the source states that our City Council approved a resolution on March 6th to allow a 100% tax reimbursement for the downtown property renovation, which is estimated at around $675,000.
The source says that this would turn a historic building into a vacation rental.
The incentive the city is offering the developer is a 100% reimbursement of the hotel occupancy tax for 10 years or $50,074.

Office Building in the Hutto Co-Op
3/23/25 Update – The new office building at the Co-Op looks like it’s almost ready for tenants!

Hutto Veterans Memorial
3/23/25 – We have some news about the Hutto Veterans Memorial planned for the area to the west of City Hall.
According to a video from KVUE News, earlier this year, the Williamson County Commissioners approved $100,000 for the project from the County’s Recreation Fund.
The City of Hutto is undertaking the construction of a Veterans Memorial. The location will be just to the west of the City Hall Building in the Co-Op District.

Bites & Basil Coming Soon
3/23/25 – Photo Update – What seemed like a small structure in front of EVO/Hooky Entertainment turned out to be really large when we got up close and took some pictures.
The new restaurant will combine Vietnamese and Texas influences. Chef Phen T. Diep also owns Broth & Basil in Pflugerville. The cuisine at the Pflugerville restaurant features pho and other Vietnamese food, along with Texas Wagyu Beef!
Location – Town West Commons Development at TX 79 and Co Rd 119. Near the location of the new Chuy’s and Hooky Entertainment.

No. 1 Boba Tea is Now Open In Hutto!
3/21/25 Update – That’s right! They opened their doors on 3/14/25.
Besides the wonderful teas and slushes, you’ll find an assortment of pastries, muffins, breads, cake pops, and more!
Hours – Sunday through Thursday: 10am to 9pm. Friday and Saturday 10am to 10pm.

Haute Boutique & Beauty Bar Now Open in Hutto
3/21/25 – Haute Boutique & Beauty Bar, formerly located in Round Rock, has moved to Hutto!
Offering several beauty services, including piercings, med-spa services, spray tans, hair braiding, and eyelash extensions. They also offer ladies’ clothing and accessories.
The boutique will be open for shopping on Saturdays from 10am to 5pm. You’ll still be able to shop online 24/7.

Cottonwood Creek Brewery & Smokehouse
3/21/25 – We were finally able to get a great image of the front of Cottonwood Creek Brewery & Smokehouse! And we were able to get some images of the inside with more finishes!

Expected Opening – they’re now aiming for a Soft Opening the first week in April!

Hooky Entertainment Picture Update
3/21/25 Update – Formerly EVO Now Hooky Entertainment Update – Ken and I went over to the new Hooky Entertainment that’s coming to Hutto.
One of our readers asked us to do an update on Hooky Entertainment because it is coming along! We were not able to get anywhere near the windows or doors because they were working when we were there. We’ll try again.
We were able to get some outside images of the Hooky Building and the smaller Bites & Basil Building.
The opening for Hooky Entertainment is still expected in May of this year.
Location – Off of US 79 near SH 130. 180 Alliance Blvd in Hutto. In front of the new Academy Sports.
Happy Core Pilates New Permanent Studio Coming Soon
3/14/25 Update – We’ve spoken with Rebecca at Happy Core Pilates, and they are excited for their new studio to open! It is still in the build-out phase, but she feels they will be able to open in late March to early April!
The studio is open now in a home setting while they wait for their brick-and-mortar location. You can go to happy-core-pilates.com to sign up for classes or sessions.

New Chase Bank
3/12/25 Update – The new Chase Bank Hutto is about to open! We’ve spoken to the great folks at Chase Bank, and they tell us the new Hutto branch will be opening at the end of March or the first week of April!

HT Fitness Hutto Coming
3/12/25 Update – If you’re one of the many, waiting for the new Hutto HT Fitness to open their doors, you’re in luck because it won’t be long now!
We’ve spoken with the fine folks at HT Fitness, and we’ve learned that they are hoping to open this month! They are waiting for permitting.
We were able to get images of the new building, both inside and outside.

Bella Sicilia Pizzeria
3/12/25 Update – Anthony’s Pizza has new owners! The new owners, Emanuel and Marianna Minardi, officially took over Anthony’s Pizzeria on Monday, 12/23/24!
It appears that Anthony’s Pizza’s new owners have officially changed the name of the restaurant to Bella Sicilia Pizzeria! The sign hasn’t been changed yet, we are watching.

Jack Allen’s Kitchen – Now Open All Day For Lunch, Dinner, and Happy Hour!
3/12/25 Update – Jack Allen’s Kitchen is now open all day!
They will be having a Grand Opening on Wednesday, March 26th. This will be their Hutto Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting. They will celebrate with some delicious food.

We’ve been watching the new TownePlace Suites Hutto by Marriott that’s being built on Ed Schmidt Blvd. in Hutto! The new 4-story 89-room hotel will feature fully equipped kitchens and living rooms.

Hutto Megasite – Update 1/24/25
We’ve visited the Hutto Megasite, and we have some new images. From what we can tell there are three buildings under construction right now.
It appears that two of them are already on the market. After the gallery we’ve added some details about the development.

Flora Hutto – Models Photo Update 1/2/25
We’ve been back to Flora, and this time, we went through all the open models and took pictures.
The Flora builders with models at this time are Highland Homes, Perry Homes, Meritage Homes, Empire Homes, and Brightland Homes.

Hutto Crossing Industrial Park – Photo Update 12/4/24
It’s hard to believe this area was just dirt only a few months ago! Now, there are huge concrete structures everywhere. You’ve been asking about this one. It’s hard to miss along Hwy 79, right across from the new Chuy’s location.
Hutto Crossing will offer 7 state-of-the-art buildings totaling 1,681,619 square feet of build-to-suit or lease industrial space.
Location – Just west of Town West Commons at Hwy 79 (across from Chuy’s and EVO Entertainment.)

Fairy Freeze – Updated 11/15/24
We’ve been in touch with Fairy Freeze’s owners, and they have changed their permanent location opening date to early March 2025. They are also planning a Grand Opening at that time! 🙂

Bella Donuts – Updated 11/11/24
Bella Donuts is getting closer to their opening date! We were by the location on FM 1660 yesterday. We were able to get a photo of the inside through the window. It’s looking good!
We were also able to speak with one of the neighbors who has been following Bella Donut’s opening pains. We are told that it’s been a year since Bella Donuts began their journey. They have had several delays with contractors and with the City to get permits.

Panera Bread – Added 10/28/24
Panera Bread is showing up on the City’s Development map! It’s listed under projects in review. We have edited the city’s map; we’ve identified Panera and some of the other businesses near the proposed Panera Bread location to make it easier to find.

Taco Bueno – Added 10/24/24
According to a Hutto Development map, the new Taco Bueno is planned for the Carmel Creek Crossing.
It is listed as ‘under construction” by the city. Our best guess is it’s the foundation without a sign between McAlister’s Deli and Take 5 Oil Change.

Convenience, Store Gas & Retail on Limmer Loop – Added 9/5/24
There’s a big sign at the intersection of Limmer Loop and 132 telling us we can expect a new convenience store with gas and retail! Right now, at this intersection are mostly corn fields and electric lines.

Hutto Mega TechCenter – Added 8/28/24
The Hutto Mega TechCenter is part of the Hutto Megasite, which is located east of Hutto along Hwy 79.
When complete, the 188-acre Class A industrial park will have 9 buildings. Buildings 1 and 2 are available for lease or sale and are slated for completion early in 2025.

Hi! Is Hutto ever going to get a Walmart super center. A Ross would be nice also. Right now we have to drive in any direction to reach a WalMart. The town the size of Hutto should have one . Thanks

Hi Barry, it’s good to hear from you. Yes, some of these restaurants are taking a little time to open up. We’ll keep updating. We have some bits of information about Freebirds possibly coming to Carmel Creek near Jersey Mike’s, but it’s from 2022. Until we find some information that is more current we can’t put anything on.
